IIAHSR Hosts Insightful Session on Futuristic Optometry Careers

The Department of Allied & Healthcare Sciences (Optometry Sciences), Integral Institute of Allied Health Sciences & Research (IIAHSR), Integral University, Lucknow, successfully organized a Guest Lecture on April 06, 2026, on the theme “Career Opportunities and Challenges in Optometry: A Futuristic Approach.”

The session focused on emerging trends and professional growth in optometry, contributing to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing students’ knowledge, skills, and career readiness.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Ritvika Raj Verma, setting the tone for an engaging academic session. The keynote lecture was delivered by Mr. Salal Khan, Assistant Professor, Era University, Lucknow, who provided valuable insights into diverse career pathways in optometry, including clinical practice, research, industry, and entrepreneurship, aligning with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

The session also highlighted advancements such as tele-optometry, artificial intelligence, and myopia management, emphasizing their role in improving healthcare outcomes and supporting SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being). Students actively participated in interactive discussions, followed by a doubt-clearing session, which further enhanced their understanding of the subject.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Adeeba Zehra, along with the presentation of a memento to the guest speaker as a token of appreciation.

The lecture witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 100 students, who gained valuable insights into future career opportunities and challenges in the field of optometry. The event was successfully conducted with the collective support of faculty members and organizers.
