The current drug development pipeline is multifaceted and complex, composed of great risk that a drug will not be successful even after many resources have been invested. Drug faces a number of challenges that complicate drug development even further. Opportunities to improve and accelerate drug development through emerging new tools and technologies, novel methodological approaches, and infrastructural changes must be explored. Drug development faces the double challenge of increasing costs and increasing pressure on pricing. To avoid that lack of perceived commercial perspective will leave existing medical needs unmet, pharmaceutical companies and many other stakeholders are discussing ways to improve the efficiency of drug research and development. Keeping in this view, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized Second Professional Development Program (PDP) on “Strategies to overcome challenges in Drug Development”. The duration for the PDP was 12th December to 17th December. The sessions were held online on Google meet Platform. The PDP attracted a fair number of participants from Integral University as well as other Universities/Institutions/Colleges which were mainly Faculty members and Research scholars. Total 196 participants have been registered throughout the country and abroad.
Following were the highlights of the PDP:
-
Recent advances in Computer Aided Drug Designing and their applications.
-
Recent advances in Immunotherapeutic
-
New approaches and guidelines for the standardization of Phytopharmaceuticals.
