The Department of Commerce is pleased to inform all students that the Value Added Course on “Environmental Economics And Sustainable Development” will be conducted in three runs during the academic session 2025. Students may enroll in any one run as per their convenience.

Overall Course Objective:To develop a comprehensive understanding of environmental challenges, their economic implications and the principles and practices essential for achieving sustainability, enabling students to become informed and responsible stewards of the environment.

vCourse Outcome (CO1):

Students will understand the economic dimensions of environmental issues and the role of economic tools and policies in addressing environmental problems.

vCourse Outcome (CO2):

Students will be able to analyze the causes and consequences of environmental degradation and evaluate the impact of human activities on ecosystems and climate.

vCourse Outcome (CO3):

Students will gain insights into sustainable development practices and conservation efforts, and understand how socio-political and cultural factors influence environmental stewardship.

vCourse Outcome (CO4):

Students will critically evaluate energy resource utilization, related environmental impacts, and policy approaches to sustainable energy management.

Each quiz will comprise of 10 MCQs of 2.5 marks each. The total course will be of 100 marks. A minimum of 50% marks shall be required for successful completion of the course.
