Integral University hosted a talk on Indo-Gambian relations by H.E. Mr. Mustapha Jawara, High Commissioner of the Republic of Gambia

Integral University hosted a talk on Indo-Gambian relations by H.E. Mr. Mustapha Jawara, High Commissioner of the Republic of Gambia, on October 11th, 2021.

Hon'ble Pro-Chancellor Dr. Syed Nadeem Akhtar, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Javed Musarrat, H.E. Mr. Mustapha Jawara, and Mr. Lamin Singhateh, Pro- Vice-Chancellor Prof. Aquil Ahmad, Dr. Shahid Ali Khan, Registrar, and other higher officials of Integral University attended the event.

Senior University faculty members were present at the curtain-raiser meeting. H.E. Mr. Mustapha Jawara was welcomed to the University by the Hon'ble Vice- Chancellor. Following that, a presentation on diversity at Integral University and a corporate film inspiring excellence were shown. His Excellency was very impressed with Integral University's infrastructure and hospitality, and he expressed his gratitude and was astounded to learn about and witness Integral University.

More than 120 people attended the Welcome Ceremony, including foreign students from many African countries. H.E. Mr. Mustapha Jawara, Hon'ble Pro-Chancellor Dr. Syed Nadeem Akhtar, and Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Javed Musarrat were greeted with floral garlands.

Dr. Syed Nadeem Akhtar, Hon'ble Pro-Chancellor, addressed the audience, saying that it is a source of pride to host such a large event on this platform. He greeted the distinguished guests by saying, "We are privileged to host such honorable people," and gave a brief overview of Integral University.

During the talk, Mr. Mustapha Jawara addressed the audience and expressed his excitement and joy at experiencing true diversity at Integral University. He went on to say that bilateral relations between India and Gambia have been good and extremely cordial, as evidenced by corporations in the Non-Aligned Movement, United Nations, and Commonwealth. He also stated that education is extremely important for everyone. Many high- ranking officials in the Gambian government have graduated from Indian universities. India and Gambia have collaborated on numerous projects.

He addressed the African students, urging them to work hard, respect everyone, and strictly adhere to the university's rules and regulations. H.E. Mr. Mustapha Jawara also showed a documentary about the exotic nation and its beauty.

Prof. Javed Musarrat, Hon'ble Pro-Vice-Chancellor, delivered the closing remarks. He stated that the University is committed to providing quality education, skill development opportunities, and a quality environment.

Later, His Excellency and Mr. Lamin met with the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Applications, and Commerce & Business Management for an interactive session. Our guests expressed a strong interest in cyber security and forensic investigation.

The Welcome Ceremony concluded with the presentation of the University memento to H.E., followed by the Gambia and India national anthems.

The event was a resounding success. Dr. Syed Nadeem Akhtar, Pro-Chancellor, and His Excellency Mr. Mustapha Jawara signed and exchanged the Mou. The signing of the MOU would pave the way for faculty and students from both countries to collaborate on various exchange programs.

The delegates left with a strong sense of optimism and determination for an upcoming partnership as well as various other ways to strengthen ties between the two countries.
