December 23- Farmer’s Day-Integral University.
Integral salutes farmers, and discuss ways to give Agriculture, a professional status.




Scientists, Professors, Government representatives, students and Farmers got together this Farmer’s Day at Integral on Sunday to spread awareness, help and reward farmers for their contribution to society. Celebrating the birth anniversary of the farmer's leader late Chaudhary Charan Singh, Syed Wasim Akhtar, the University Chancellor explained that this day is programmed to assess how important is the role of farmers in the social and economic development of our country. “They need to be helped in education, training in scientific farming, loan, storage and marketing of their products to have our plate of food and secure the economy” he said.


Shri Surya Pratap Shahi, Cabinet Minister, Agriculture, Govt. of UP inaugurated Intag, a shop of healthy produce of IIAST Farms on this occasion and praised the department’s efforts to harvest products which are chemical free and have maintained the strictest quality of standard while educating and intriguing the students towards farming .In his positive address to the audience Shree Pratap acknowledged that things are getting better in Agriculture and he believed that if such events where Scientists, Professors, Farmers, ministers and the present generation come under one roof, the output would only be positive and better India in each sector.




“Knowledge, technology and reforms can and will do wonders to Agriculture Industry and the whole country is needed to work for the cause of farmers. The various programs scheduled for the day once again compelled us to think about how farmers grow crops with great difficulty to feed us. Technologies developed by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, ICAR have significantly contributed to increase in Agriculture production,” said Dr. Arunachalam, Asst. Director, General International Relations, ICAR, New Delhi. He emphasized that to stop food wastage is also the way to pay respect farmers.




The Institute of Agriculture Science & Technology, Integral gave away the Farmer Award 2018 and felicitated the progressive farmers who are the torch bearers for the techniques to be implemented in the farming as per the modern day technology. Various sessions were organized with the farmers and students interacting with each other in order to get a glimpse of conventional as well as modern agriculture technologies. Students reached out to these farmers to exchange experiences and knowledge related to organic farming, sugarcane, groundnut & banana cultivation, protected farming to name a few. “Integral Institute of Agricultural Science & Technology believes that Agriculture is the most healthful, most useful, and most noble employment of man. Farmers are the backbone of a country and we can’t stand straight if our backbone is broken” expressed Dr.Haris Siddiqui, Director, IIAST.
