B. Tech Biotechnology isa multi-disciplinary course which involves application of basicsciences like biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, microbiology, biochemistry and the recent developments in thebioprocess engineering, fermentation technology and genetic engineering. This Four Year coursewas started in 2004 with intent to carter the needs of the Biotech industry and allied fields.The basic objectives of the Biotechnologists are to make the healthier life, new drug development, vaccine development and value added bio-products that are safer for consumers.The students of this course, study the techniques involved in the production, processing, preservation, quality management etc. The Biotech industry is one of the largest industry in the world and needs highly trained professionals in medical science, agriculture, forensic sciences, bioprospecting and nanotechnology to ensure the supply, quality, safetyof research based new drugs, vaccines and food for every one and this course paves the way for fulfilling this prospect.
Candidates have to be successful in IUET 2026 (Integral University Entrance Test)/ JEE-Mains/ State Level Engineering Entrance Exams across India or other Engineering Entrance Examinations conducted by the prominent universities.
Applicants are required to submit the mark sheet of their last qualifying examination as soon as it is issued. The document must be submitted no later than July-end or August, in accordance with University requirements.
