The aim and objective of Basic Electrical laboratory is to make clear the concepts of Basic Electrical Engineering. Our department has two well-equipped laboratories, Basic Electrical Lab-1 & Basic Electrical Lab-2.This lab is oriented towards providing an understanding of knowledge of the electrical and electronics circuit and systems, domestic electrical energy consumption metering, ac motors operating principle and usage in industries.
Lab FacilitiesThe control system lab presently composed of hardware based and software based experiments.
Lab FacilitiesThe department possesses well-equipped Electrical Workshop Labs. The objective of the Lab is to provide the students in hand experience of how to make Transformer, PCB, rectifier and assembly of these and study of Power electronic devices also.
Lab FacilitiesThe main focus is on the measurement & control of Electric drives. The laboratory is also equipped with latest devices used for AC and DC motor four quadrant operation, open and closed loop speed control.
Lab FacilitiesThe department possesses two well-equipped Electric Machines Labs for second year and third year respectively. The objective of the Electric Machine Lab is to provide the students in hand experience of D.C. and AC machines, single and three phase transformers.
Lab FacilitiesIn Lab View lab the students are made to work on Lab View software with Mechatronics kit, some biomedical instruments as well as DC Motor.
Mechatronics engineering is a cross-disciplinary field that combines mechanical and electronic design in control systems architecture though the application of computer programming. One of the most useful topics that can be covered in an introductory mechatronics course is the understanding and application of sensors. Various sensors are used in all types of industries. For example, in the automotive industry magnetic field transducers are used for throttle, pedal, suspension, and valve position sensing. In assembly line and machine automation, optical sensors are used for non-contact position sensing and safety. Piezo film sensors are installed in packages to log vibration history of a shipment.
There are 12 experiments: strain gage with flexible link, pressure sensor, piezo sensor, potentiometer, infrared, sonar, optical position, magnetic field, encoder, temperature sensor, switches and LEDs, and switch debounce analysis. The experiments can be performed independently.
Topics CoveredThis laboratory is equipped with various trainers, recorders & other calibrating& testing equipment’s.
Lab FacilitiesNetwork Analysis and Synthesis Lab is a well-equipped lab with various equipment based on latest technologies. This Lab provides the practical knowledge of ac & dc networks.
Lab Facilities
The Power Electronics Laboratory is a teaching and research laboratory. It hosts the experimental sessions for course modules of EE651, for undergraduate educational purpose. It also hosts final year students for their project works .Extensive research activities on power electronic converters and power semiconductors are also carried out in the laboratory.
Lab facilities:
The lab is equipped with all the relays which are presently used in the power industry and automation industries. The lab suffices the need of industries related to power sector.
Lab Facilities
Power system Laboratory comprises of protection, simulation, high voltage and machine related experiments. Facilities are available for string insulators, transformer oil test. Varieties of Power system Simulation packages like PSCAD are available. High voltage laboratory has facilities for power frequency high voltage generation up to 60 kV, and other testing facilities.
Through the experiments and hands-on learning processing, students can directly measure the characteristics of fundamental components used in electric power engineering and study the operation of electric power systems. In the lab experiments the instructor can teach students effectively about the real electric power systems: operation, technical limitation, and safety issues.
The laboratory contains the same hardware and software used by industry professionals in the creation and maintenance of power systems giving students the opportunity to develop the skills and experience that will aid them in the work field.
Major Equipment’s :
The lab is equipped with all the relays which are presently used in the power industry and automation industries. The lab suffice the need of industries related to power sector.
Lab Facilities
The main objective of Simulation lab is to introduce the latest software like MATLAB, Lab VIEW etc. and its use within basic and complex Electrical circuits, Power electronics, and Control System applications. This lab plays an important role to make the students understand how the circuit works. After simulation of any electrical circuit it is easy to implement it on hardware.
