The United Nations General Assembly’s 17 Goals for Sustainable Development (SDG’s) provide priorities to work towards the well-being of the Earth and its people. Integral University understands the importance and urgent nature of SDG’s and is committed to contribute in achievement of SDGs. The commitment towards SDGs is reflected through the work done within departments, and other units of the university. Progress reports of SDG 13 is as follows.
Climate Action
At Integral University, we recognize climate action is a shared obligation. Our dedication to climate action is demonstrated by a number of programs designed to increase knowledge and promote ethical behavior among staff, professors, and students. Many research articles (61) have been published in the field of Climate.

Low Carbon Energy Tracking
We take a measurement of the quantity of low-carbon energy that is consumed throughout the University on an annual basis. As an illustration, during the academic year 2022/23, we utilised
52.08 gigajoules from low carbon sources. Solar, Solar thermal, were the other sources of energy that were utilised in this process.
Low-Carbon Energy Use
In tune with international trend, Integral University has installed 1 MWp Rooftop Grid Interactive Solar Power Plant as per Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) guidelines & specifications. For SPV grid interactive system, available roof area on the building is used for setting up solar PV plants. Rooftop solar PV systems are easy to install & maintain, have long life and are modular in nature. The excess unused electricity generated here is fed back to transmission grid. Apart from approx. 30% revenue saving, the plant avoids around 1400 tons of carbon dioxide annually and reduces emissions from grid power and backup diesel generators.
Local Education Programmes on Climate
In order to raise awareness about climate change, we offer educational programs and initiatives at the local level. When it comes to the topic of "sustainable science and climate change," our university students' initiative is responsible for engaging hundreds of thousands of young people all over the world each year around the world. Through this program, young people are given the opportunity to gain an understanding of the risks, implications, and methods for mitigating and adapting to climate change. The previous year, we sponsored a variety of programs that addressed some of the most critical climate topics that are currently being asked.
Climate Action Plan, Shared
Integral University's yearly Sustainable Development Report included a detailed Climate Action Plan.
Carbon Footprint Reduction
UNEP estimates that building materials contribute 9% of energy-related CO2 emissions. The ratio of carbon emissions to Gross Internal Area must be maintained while Integral infrastructure grows. All university-sponsored travel, a key contributor to Scope 3 emissions, will be calculated.
Global Sustainability Group Memberships
Integral University joins worldwide climate change groups to demonstrate our commitment. These groups will assist our teams improve their skills, learn from leading universities, showcase their contributions, share ideas, and form cross-border collaborative partnerships.
Operations and Building Certifications
The Office of Sustainability will seek to certify our buildings and renovations to make Integral daily operations sustainable in transportation, water, energy, resources, and interior environment quality.
ISO Certificates
The institution is investigating ISO certifications to benchmark management, quality, and sustainability across functional divisions.
Towards Zero Waste
The university is tracking food and general waste from campus operations and studying ways to reduce, recycle, and achieve a zero-waste goal.
Air Quality Index Monitor
Air pollution and greenhouse gases frequently come from coal-fired power plants and diesel automobiles. To track health-threatening abnormalities, determine the area's main contaminants and their sources. The campus will install air quality index monitoring equipment to assess air quality every day for community health.
Greening Transportation
Integral University has a three-phase strategy to green visitor, staff, and student commutes. We will add and make EV charging outlets accessible. We will continue to urge personnel to take shuttles to campus instead than driving. We want to partner with organisations that can help our staff travel greener throughout the country.
Co-operative Planning for Climate Change Disasters
We are actively participating in collaborative planning for climate change catastrophes at both the local and regional levels, and we are working closely with the government on this. At the local level, our Grow Green Project provides assistance to the local government, partners, and stakeholders in order to build and implement a comprehensive master plan for protecting the environment through green infrastructure. A partnership of academics who are at the forefront of urban climate adaptation research is being led by our RESIN Eco-cities project, which is being carried out on a regional scale.
Inform and Support Government
Through a variety of programs, our university provides information to and assistance to regional and municipal governments in the management of climate change monitoring procedures. We had a significant part in the SCATTER project, which was financed by the United Kingdom Government and was titled "Setting City Area Targets and Trajectories for Emissions Reduction." This project was delivered by BEIS and aimed to assist local and regional governments in better understanding their respective responsibilities in the response to climate change.
Environmental Education Collaborate with NGO
When it comes to climate adaptation, we work together with a diverse spectrum of non-governmental organisations. Locally, we work together with a variety of non- governmental organisations (NGOs) to form a Community Interest Company that is in charge of the activities related to climate adaptation. We are members of its Board of Directors. Through the Ignition initiative, we collaborate with another non-governmental organisation (NGO) in the area to provide help for climate adaptation.
Commitment to Carbon Neutral University
Yes we are committed to carbon neutral phase as we have initiated the following steps from the past few years to control carbon emission like
- Power generation through Solar
- Reuse of Water for different purposes
- EV charging point in the campus in order to promote the Electric Vehicle
- Waste Management System
- Use of Cycle in the campus
- Use of battery operated Vehicle.
