Purpose of Policy:

This policy provides an overarching framework for University admissions policies and procedures.

Overview:

The Integral University is committed to equality in education. Students are selected on the basis of their individual merits, abilities and aptitudes.

The University aims to offer clear advice and guidance to prospective applicants to enable them to make informed choices and to apply to programmes appropriate to their interests, academic qualifications and potential.

The University is committed to follow the regulations and guidelines on admissions stipulated by the statutory bodies such as University Grants Commission (UGC) who have recognized the programmes.

The University shall form an Admission Committee based on the need to plan and initiate admission related procedures.

The Committee shall provide necessary guidance to ensure that the interests, rights and needs of prospective candidates\students who are looking for educational opportunities in various courses at the University are attended.

The University shall ensure:

• The University shall announce, by advertisement in some leading national newspapers / on its website www.iul.ac.in and by such other means, as it may consider necessary, the date of application, last date for submission of application form, programs offered and such other information as may be necessary in this regard.
• The University shall prepare an update prospectus which provides detailed information on the vision and mission of the University, details of recognition and approvals from the various statutory authorities, relevant and compressive information such as courses/programs offered, eligibility criteria, procedure and details of common entrance test, with details of duration of the course, course pattern entry requirement, eligibility details, job opportunity, mode of selection, medical standards collaborative arrangements with International Universities, details of research programs etc.
• The details of various infrastructural facilities in the campus, library facilities, well equipped Laboratories, facilities to develop through physical education residential and swimming pool facility, etc., shall also be provided in the prospectus.
• The prospectus shall provide the details of academic governance of the University. The comprehensive information in respect of students’ career placements details shall also be provided.
• Candidates who wish to apply for the various courses conducted by the University may download the application form and after completely filling the form, upload the same to consider their application for the entrance test.
• The University is committed to enact and follow the admission procedure which ensures that there will be transparency in the entire admission process.

Admission Application Process:

Candidates having passed the qualifying examination i.e. High School for Diploma Programs, Intermediate for UG Programs, Graduation for PG Programs and Post Graduation for Doctoral Programs with the required minimum percentage of marks in aggregate as given in the Prospectus are eligible to apply for admission to the respective programmes.

Upon the allotment of admission, the admission shall be treated as confirmed only after (i) Payment of total Applicable Fees and (ii) Verification of all Original Documents, within stipulated time period, failing which the admission shall be considered as cancelled.

Online Application

Candidates can apply online for admission through admission.iul.ac.in by filling online admission application form followed by paying prescribed application fee within the time limit specified by the university. The candidate shall be required to upload colour scanned copy of the requisite certificates and testimonials as specified in the admission form on the online portal.

Paper Based Application

Candidates can purchase admission application form also from the University campus, authorized book stores & submit the same in the Directorate of Admissions and Academics of University with all complete information along with required documents.

Programs are categorized as Test & Non Test.

Admission Procedure

Admission in selected test programs will be based on Integral University Entrance Test (IUET). For students opting for non-test programs, a program wise merit list will be prepared according to which counselling and admission will be offered. Candidates seeking admission in MBA program shall have to go through a personal interview after IUET before admission.

Admission can also be done through Online mode. For this the candidate must request the Directorate of Admissions & Academics to provide link of the same. By clicking on the link the candidate is redirected to payment link and after deposition of the required fee his online provisional admission will be done.

Important Note

Candidates who have appeared in the Qualifying Examination and have also applied for admission in any program of this University should submit the Marks Sheet of the qualifying examination within one month from the date of provisional admission failing which the admission will be automatically cancelled and deposited fee be forfeited.

Number of Seats in the University:

On the recommendation of the Board of Studies/Faculty Board, Admission Committee, the Academic Council, shall fix the number of seats in various programs of the University at the beginning of each academic session in accordance with availability of teachers and infrastructure and as per permissions received from regulatory bodies.

Alteration of seats in different programs:

1. The Academic Council may propose the alteration of seats in different programs through the recommendation of Admission Committee/Alteration by regulatory bodies/BOS/Faculty Board.
2. The Vice Chancellor shall recommend the alteration of seats to the higher statutory bodies stating reasons for such.
3. The Higher Statutory Bodies may approve the alteration as proposed by the Academic Council and recommended by the Vice Chancellor. Provided that such alteration shall not be made for those programs for which specific number of seats is permitted by regulatory bodies.

Reservation of Seats:

• Integral University was established through Uttar Pradesh Government Act No. 9 of 2004 known as Integral University Act 2004, as a minority educational university through clause 6 of the Act which permits reservation upto 50 % for the minority community.
• Integral University as empowered by the act is not mandated to earmark specific number of seats for reserved category. However Integral University admits students from diverse backgrounds and is open to all. 50% of the seats are open to general category. Reservation for girls, physically handicapped and NRI are also available within these categories.

Cancellation of Admissions

For cancellation of admission, the student is required to fill the prescribed form available in the Directorate of Admissions & Academics. The fee returned guidelines are governed by the Rules and Regulations provided by the UGC from time to time.

Hostel Allotment

For availing the hostel facility the students are required to fill the prescribed Hostel Admission Form. After depositing the prescribed fee the student is allotted the room at the Hostel.

1. For the Test Programs, students shall have to appear for an Entrance Test which shall be conducted by University.
2. The National Entrance Test for admissions to the Test courses will be known as Integral University Entrance Test (IUET)
3. IUET will be an online test carrying multiple choice questions to be held in the University campus.
4. There will be no negative marking.
5. The dates regarding Written Test shall be notified to students accordingly from time to time.
6. The duration of the test will be 90 minutes and it will be held on every Monday of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
7. Syllabus of IUET will be the syllabus of the qualifying examination.
8. The Application form, complete in all respects, should reach the Directorate of Admissions & Academics, Integral University, Lucknow on or before the scheduled date of test through Registered Post/ Speed Post/ Courier/ Online application, etc.
9. Relaxation of 5% in the Eligibility Criteria in terms of percentage marks in qualifying examination shall be granted to candidates belonging to reserved category (SC/ST/OBC).
10. Candidates who are due to appear or have appeared in the qualifying examination and whose results are awaited are also eligible to appear in IUET.
11. Candidates who have qualified JEE (MAIN)/JEE ADVANCED) /UPSEE/ CMAT/ UPCATET/ AMUEEE/ Uni-GAUGE/State Level Engineering Entrance Exams across India & Entrance Exams conducted by the prominent universities are exempted from IUET. Such candidates are required to submit the relevant Score Card for availing exemptions.
12. All provisions given in the Prospectus shall be binding and acceptable to the students and their parents / guardians. Any change made from time to time in the rules, regulations and fees of the University shall mutatis mutandis apply to the admitted students.
13. For admissions in M.B.B.S., M.D. and M.S. programs, the candidate should qualify the NEET examination followed by seat allotment through UPDGME counseling.

Important Information & Rules

• Candidates who have been admitted to the University shall have to abide by the University rules and regulations, and the amendments made therein from time to time. No litigation shall therefore be tenable.
• Every student must carry/bear his/her identity card while being in the campus.
• Students should be regular and punctual in attendance in classes and participation in extra-curricular/co-curricular activities right from the start to the end of the semester/year.
• Students should follow a decent dress code when they come to the University.
• Students are expected to behave in a responsible manner and maintain decorum in the University.
• This University strictly follows the directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court and regulations of the University Grants Commission for preventing and curbing the menace of ragging in Educational Institutions. These regulations, in full, are displayed on notice boards and are also posted on the website of this University. All the candidates, in their own interest, are advised to study and follow these regulations in both letter and spirit during their studies and stay in this University. Ragging is totally prohibited on and off the campus. If any student is found indulging in any form of ragging, he/she is liable to be punished as per University rules as per the directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. A complaint committee of women against sexual harassment has also been formed to deal with any such untoward cases.
• Admission entitlement is not by virtue of right, even if a candidate is otherwise eligible.
• Candidates shall have to submit a transfer / migration certificate, from the university or college where he/she was studying earlier, at the time of reporting for admission to a course in this University.
• At any stage, if it is found that a candidate has used some fraudulent means to seek admission, or has made incorrect statement (s), he/she shall not be granted admission or if already admitted, such admission shall be cancelled at any stage.
• Applications of the candidates whose qualifying examinations are recognized by the University shall only be considered for admission.
• During processing or verification of the documents, if any error or omission is found, the University shall have the right to cancel such admissions.
• Eligibility criteria shall not be relaxed.
• The candidate must ensure his/her eligibility to appear in the entrance examination. If a candidate, who is ineligible to appear in the examination, does so, he/she will not have any claim whatsoever on admission.
• Candidates are required to produce the original documents such as marks sheet and certificates of the qualifying examination at the time of interview/ reporting for admission. Candidates in respect of whom, the result of the qualifying examination has not been declared by the date of admission, due to any reason whatsoever, shall only be eligible for provisional admission. The candidates will have to produce original documents within 2 months from the commencement of classes to confirm their admission, failing which, the provisional admission will be cancelled.
• The candidates selected for admission counselling of different programs shall be intimated through email. The applicant can also check the admission counselling dates from Integral University website. The University shall not be responsible for any delay or non delivery of letter.
• The chance of candidate not reporting for the admission on the due date and time, shall be forfeited and the offer of admission shall be made to the next candidate in order of merit. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
• No intimation shall be sent to those students who are not selected and also their application /fee / photocopy of certificates / documents shall not be returned.
• Canvassing in any form shall render an applicant “Disqualified”.
• No candidate shall be allowed to take admission simultaneously in two regular courses.
• Late applications / incomplete applications / applications without requisite fee / application not submitted on the prescribed form, shall not be entertained.
• The University has not appointed any consultant or outside agency for admission. Candidates should remain cautious and directly contact the Directorate of Admissions & Academics office for any query or assistance regarding admission.

The University has reserved the following rights:

• Not to disclose the marks obtained by a candidate in any admission test / interview /aptitude test etc.
• Not to admit a candidate to a program of study, even if a notification inviting applications for admission to the same has been issued, if the number of applications received for admission is less than 40% of the sanctioned intake for a particular program.
• Not to admit any of the candidates on valid grounds without intimating reasons to candidate/ parents.
• The candidates should not make any payment anywhere except at the university accounts office and obtain a proper receipt.
• A full-time student of this University will not be allowed to join any full time job anywhere. If found otherwise, his/her admission will stand cancelled.
• All disputes / legal matters shall be covered under Lucknow jurisdiction only.
• Every year the IUET starts in the month of April/May.
• Students shall have to go for Summer Training / Project work arranged by the Center for Career Guidance and Development (CCG&D) or by themselves.

• Bus Fee will be charged on the basis of location /distance.
• The fee shall be paid through DD drawn in favour of "Treasurer, Integral University", payable at Lucknow. No Cash / Cheques will be accepted.
• The caution money deposited by the students at the time of admission in the University is refunded only on completion of the course and withdrawal after clearing all the dues. The same shall be claimed immediately after completion of the course. The caution money shall be transferred into the account of the students in the branch of Punjab National Bank situated in the campus. All students are advised to open their account in the same branch and provide the account number in the concerned section.
• The students should ensure that his/her permanent/ postal addresses for communication are updated in the University records.
• Application form and processing Fees is Rs. 1000/- for Indian applicants & $100 for foreign applicants.

1. Introduction:

These rules define the procedure for the admission of International students to various program of study. These rules are based on General Guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Statutory / Regulatory directives issued from time to time.

2. Office of Foreign Students and Scholar Services:

Office of Foreign Students and Scholar Services will provide necessary guidance for admission. All letters relating to international students should be addressed to the Office of Foreign students and Scholar Services.

3. International Students:

• Foreign students: Students holding passports issued by foreign countries including people of Indian origin who have acquired the nationality of foreign countries.
• Non Resident Indians (NRI): Only those Non Resident Indian students who have studied and passed the qualifying examinations from schools or colleges in foreign countries will be included as international students. This will include the students studying in the schools or colleges situated in foreign countries even if affiliated to the Boards of Secondary Higher Secondary Education or Universities located in India, but will not include students studying in those schools or colleges (situated in India) and affiliated to the Boards of Secondary Higher Secondary Education or Universities of foreign countries. Students passing the qualifying examinations from Boards or Universities located in foreign countries as external students and Dependants of NRI studying in India will not merit the status of international students.

4. Documents required for admission of International Students:

• Visa: All the international students will require a student visa endorsed to this Institution for joining full time courses. No other endorsement is acceptable. Students wishing to join a research programme will require a research visa endorsed to this Institution. The visa should be valid for the prescribed duration of the course. Visa is not required for NRI students.
• All international students wishing to undertake any research work or join a Ph.D programmes will have to obtain prior security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the approval of Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India.

5. Eligibility Qualifications:

Only students having qualification recognized as equivalent by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) are only eligible for admission.

• A candidate shall have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the academic year.
• Candidates seeking admission to Medical program must have studied the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in Grades 11 & 12.
• Under this category only the students who have studied and passed the qualifying examination from a school located in foreign country shall be considered. This will include the student studying in school and / or college situated in foreign country, even if the concerned school / college is affiliated to any Board of secondary Higher Secondary education or a University in India. However, wards of NRI / PIO / FN, who is studying for the qualifying examination in school / college located in India are excluded.
• In case of any school that follows the American system of education, the candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology at “AP” (Advanced Placement) level and must have minimum C grade in these subjects.
• The candidate shall get equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian University (AIU), New Delhi.

Equivalence Certificate:

For issue of Equivalence Certificate, US $ 200 or equivalent Indian currency payable through Demand Draft favoring "Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi” is required.

6. Admission Procedure:

Admission of all the international students will be done through the Foreign students and Scholar Services. Students will be admitted in the beginning of the program.

A student wishing to join the University should submit application form to the International Student's Cell along with the prescribed fees. The office will then check the eligibility and issue the provisional admission letter. This is required to get the visa and to complete other formalities.

After getting provisional admission, the student should get the student visa and complete all other formalities.

The student then report for final admission, fills up the admission form and pay the required fees. The student should undergo the medical examination & also required to appear for the English proficiency test. Once this is done, the final admission would be considered.

The international students will have to pay the fees in US dollars after observing all the prevailing rules and regulations.

In case a student is not considered for admission to the course after obtaining provisional admission, the administrative fees will be refunded after deducting US$ 75 towards the bank commission and postage.

7 .Change of Program:

An international student who has been granted admission to a particular program of study shall not be allowed to change the program. In exceptional case, request may be considered subject to the approval of concerned embassy.

8. Summary:

Procedure for admission is summed up below:

Step i: Students should download the International Brochure and the prospectus of the University available on the website.

Step ii: Fill up the eligibility form for international students and submit it, along with the copies of certificates listed in the eligibility form and the required fees. This should be done well in time so that the student is able to obtain the visa and NOC before the due date for admission.

Step iii: Get the provisional admission letter from the Directorate of Admissions and Academics, in order to obtain the student visa.

Step iv: Produce the document of provisional admission to the Indian Embassy in the respective country and get a student visa endorsed to institution. NRI students do not require a visa.

Step v: Report to the institution for admission. Fill the permanent admission form and submit it along with the following documents (in original along with a xerox copy):

Step vi: Undergo medical examination and obtain medical fitness certificate. As per government rules all international students entering India on student visa have to be tested for HIV and will not be given admission if found to be positive.

Step vii: Appear for the proficiency test in English. This is only applicable, if the qualifying examination is not in the English medium.

Step viii: Admission of international students will be confirmed only after verification of original certificates, medical fitness test and payment of required fees.

Step ix: Within a week of arrival in India, register with the police in the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) of the local Police.

9. Registration in Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO):

Within 14 days of arrival in India, the international student has to register his/her name with the police in the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) of the local police. For this the following documents shall be submitted by the admitted students to the Office of Foreign Students and Scholar Services:

10. Discipline in and outside the Campus:

The international students will abide by all the rules and relegations of the Integral University and the code of conduct as applicable to Indian students doing same program.

11. Examination and Award of Degrees & Diplomas:

The procedure for examination, payment of examination fees, issue of mark list, issue of passing certificates and award of degrees will be same as for the Indian students doing same courses.

12. Conclusion:

In case there are any differences in the interpretation of rules, opinion of the Office of Foreign Students and Scholar Services will be final. The fees are liable to revision and students will have to pay the revised fees as and when applicable. On the points not specifically covered, the decision of the Institution authorities will be final.
