Roles and Responsibilities

I. Policy Formulation and Implementation

Develop sustainability policies, guidelines, and action plans for the institution.
Ensure effective implementation across departments and administrative units

II. Monitoring and Evaluation

Track progress of sustainability initiatives through regular reviews and audits. (green audit, energy audit, etc.).
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for sustainability assessment.

III. Data Management and Reporting

Collect, validate, and maintain sustainability-related data.
Prepare reports for NAAC, NIRF, AISHE, and other regulatory or ranking frameworks.

IV. Resource Management Initiatives

Promote efficient use of natural resources (energy conservation, water harvesting, waste management).
Encourage adoption of renewable energy and eco-friendly technologies.

V. Academic and Research Integration

Support inclusion of sustainability topics in curriculum and interdisciplinary research.
Encourage student projects and faculty research in sustainability domains.

VI. Awareness and Training Programs

Organize workshops, seminars, campaigns, and outreach activities on sustainability.
Promote student participation in green initiatives and community engagement.

VII. Compliance and Best Practices

Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and institutional policies.
Adopt and promote national and international best practices in sustainability.

VIII. Collaboration and Networking

Establish partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, industries, and academic institutions.
Facilitate joint initiatives and knowledge exchange programs.

IX. Advisory and Recommendation Role

Identify gaps in sustainability practices and recommend corrective actions.
Provide strategic inputs to university leadership for long-term sustainability planning.
