The United Nations General Assembly’s 17 Goals for Sustainable Development (SDG’s) provide priorities to work towards the well-being of the Earth and its people. Integral University understands the importance and urgent nature of SDG’s and is committed to contribute in achievement of SDGs. The commitment towards SDGs is reflected through the work done within departments, and other units of the university. Progress reports of SDG 16 is as follows.

Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

Cite Score: Goal 16 of the Sustainable Development Agenda is to construct inclusive, responsible, and effective institutions at all levels, promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, and ensure that everyone has access to justice.

Students’ Union

The Student Council at Integral University plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and engaging campus environment. Typically, a student council is responsible for representing the interests and concerns of the student body, organizing events, and promoting student engagement. Purpose and Responsibilities of the Student Council are:

Identify and Engage with Local Stakeholders

In order to support community development and promote a peaceful and positive atmosphere of social participation, Integral University invites local experts, academics, and representatives of regional institutions (such as county and provincial governments, social welfare organizations, local businesses, and community colleges) to explain and communicate community issues. IIMS&R, Integral University offers mental health services, including potential development, to institutions and members of the local community. In order to give locals access to a quality education, we also connect the resources of our university and community college. Additionally, we improve the communication between Integral University and the county/city governments in order to address the issues facing government agencies. Integral Institute of Medical Science & Research (IIMSR) is an Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna’s (AB-PMJAY) empanelled hospital where health and wellness is promoted, apart from ensuring free medical services to AB-PMJAY cardholders. The card holders are entitled to comprehensive medical care at zero cost. IIMSR is committed to the scheme's objective of 'delivering Comprehensive Primary Health Care that is universal and free to beneficiaries with a focus on wellness and the delivery of an expanded range of services for the community.

  • Integral University has adopted five villages near the campus and works to improve the health of its residents. The five adopted villages are Sansarpur, Padri, Ganguli, Gurvamau and Thakuramau where preventive, promotive, and primary healthcare services are regularly rolled out to beneficiaries. The first-year students of MBBS have been motivated to adopt at least five families wherein they visit and keep track of their healthcare throughout the course duration.
  • A Rural and an urban healthcare centre have been established to monitor and promote healthcare. These healthcare centres are located in Sansarpur and Sarvodaya Nagar. The marginalized and underserved sections of the society are addressed for their health needs. Free medicine samples are distributed to the needy patients.
  • Emergency services like subsidized ambulance are made available to everybody.
  • Teachers and students organize health check-ups and blood donation camps, conduct awareness drives, and celebrate specific days advocating the prevention of deadly diseases/Infections.

IIMSR (Integral University) prioritizes response to the community needs and emergencies, such as the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

Engaging with local stakeholders is a critical part of achieving this goal, as local communities, organizations, and governments play a pivotal role in implementing and monitoring policies that promote peace, justice, and strong institutions.

University Principles on Corruption and Bribery

The ethical and compliance framework of Integral University usually includes pledges and ideals pertaining to organized crime, corruption, and bribery. The University commitment to upholding honesty, openness, and moral behavior in all of its operations is reflected in these values and pledges. It can foster a culture of integrity, ethics, and responsible behavior among all members of the university community while discouraging organized crime, bribery, and corruption by embracing and putting these values and ideals into practice. Integral University has zero tolerance for dishonest practices, such as bribery. For or on behalf of the University, no bribe of any kind may be paid to or received from stakeholders, clients, suppliers, politicians, public officials, members of the general public, etc. Offering gifts or meals should be done in a polite manner. Additionally, according to the University's Human Resource Manual's no employee shall, in the course of his or her duties, accept or permit his wife or any other member of his or her family to accept from any person other than relatives any gift of more than trifling value, unless with the prior sanction of the competent authority. All students, staff members, including senior management of the university, and outside parties are covered by this policy. Employees are asked to report suspected infractions of this policy, offer proof of instances of bribery, corruption, and manipulation, and assist with any audit or investigation efforts pertaining to topics covered by the policy. The Administration is in charge of keeping an eye on adherence to this policy, disclosing violations, and offering remedies. Every two years, the Internal Audit Department will evaluate the Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy's contents for effectiveness. If necessary, the Academic Council may approve changes to the policy.

Provide Expert Advice to the Government

For governments to develop evidence-based, successful policies that meet societal demands, expert input is crucial. Experts provide information on complicated topics like public health, education, and climate change, ensuring that choices are supported by facts and research. With their support, policies are created that are realistic, safeguard the public interest, and boost national competitiveness particularly through technological innovation and environmentally friendly practices. Expert opinions also help governments evaluate and reduce risks, which increases accountability and openness. Through the incorporation of specialized expertise, governments can execute significant solutions that foster social welfare and sustained national advancement. Numerous knowledgeable advisors from a variety of subjects at Integral University make substantial contributions to the government. University scholars and researchers, who specialize in fields including environmental science and civil engineering, frequently work with governmental organizations to offer perspectives and suggestions based on solid data. By tackling difficult societal issues, improving the efficacy of policies that are put into place, and firmly establishing decisions in research, this advising function supports policymaking in India. Their contributions play a crucial role in promoting social well-being, economic progress, and sustainable development throughout the country.

Participation in Government Research

In order to create important policies or help government departments create policies and carry out strategies, Integral University actively engages in government policy research projects. In 2023, Integral University recorded 16 faculty members undertaking projects under this category.

Neutral Platform to Discuss Issues

In addition to conducting academic research and publishing findings in a variety of professional domains, the Faculty of Integral University also established a safe and impartial environment by planning outreach initiatives and symposiums, among other initiatives. In addition to highlighting and promoting pertinent scholarly and professional accomplishments, they also extend invitations to diverse political players to convene at symposiums and other outreach events for open and secure discussions on a range of topics.

  • Minister for Minority affairs visits Integral University: Executing the holistic mission of the UP Government to uplift the status of minorities in all aspects, Mr. Danish Azad Ansari, the Minister of State for Minority Welfare, Waqf & Haj, visited Integral University.
  • Indo Uzbek Meet & the International Conference on Trends & Innovations in Food Technology (TIFT-2022): A two-day Indo-Uzbek meet and International Conference on Trends & Innovation in Food Technology from farm to fork TIFT-2022 was jointly organized by Department of Bioengineering, Integral University, Lucknow and Tashkent Chemical Technological Institute, Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
  • Orientation Programme 2022-23: Integral University organized the Orientation Program for the newly enrolled students at the University Lawn here in Lucknow with an aim to prepare the students for new beginnings and to introduce them to the enriching environment of the University. Dy. Chief Minister, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Brijesh Pathak graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
