Brief Report on Educational Program on “Fundamentals of Capital and Commodity Market”

One-day educational program on “Fundamentals of Capital and Commodity Market” in Collaboration with MCX India Ltd. has been organized by Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Integral University, Lucknow. The event commenced at 10:30 AM at the University Auditorium on 10th May 2024 aimed to provide faculty and students to manage their finances and plan for their future.
The Resource person of the educational program was Mr. Nitin Sahu, Manager, Business Development, MCX, who delivered an informative presentation on the topic. The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) is a state-of-the-art, commodity derivatives exchange that facilitates online trading of commodity derivatives transactions, thereby providing a platform for price discovery and risk management.
The program began with a brief introduction of the Expert by Dr. Rashmi Shukla, Assistant Professor followed by a welcome of the guest by Prof. Zeba Aqil, Head, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. Mr. Nitin Sahu began the presentation and spoke about trading in commodity derivative contracts across varied segments including bullion, industrial metals, energy, and agricultural commodities, and also on indices constituted from these contracts. The students, as well as the faculty members, got a deep understanding of derivatives options and the working of the capital and commodity market
Dr Zia Afroz, Assistant Professor, then delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all authorities, Dean of Students Welfare Prof. M. A. Khalid, attendees, participants, and especially Mr. Nitin Sahu for sharing his expertise. The event was successful as it left the attendees with a deeper knowledge of Capital and Commodity Market. More than 100 participants attended the program. The program was well managed by faculty coordinators Dr Rashmi Shukla, Dr Tahir Hussain Ansari, Dr Zia Afroz, Dr Priyanshi Gupta and Dr Rafat Fatima under the efficient supervision of Prof. Zeba Aqil, Head, Department Of Humanities and Social Sciences.
