DEAN'S MESSAGE

The Faculty of Commerce is a vibrant and forward-looking faculty, formally established in August 2024 after being carved out of the erstwhile Faculty of Commerce & Management. This significant step was taken under the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble Founder and Chancellor, Prof. S. W. Akhtar, with the objective of responding to the rapidly expanding and evolving landscape of commerce and business education in the digital era.

At present, the Faculty of Commerce comprises a single but robust department, the Department of Commerce, with a student strength of approximately 1000 learners. The department offers a diverse portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes, designed to align academic excellence with industry relevance. These include:

  1. Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.)
  2. Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) – International Accounting & Finance (in association with ACCA, U.K.)
  3. Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) – Automobile Retail Management (in association with Maruti Suzuki India Limited – MSIL)
  4. Bachelor of Commerce (Retail Operations Management.)
  5. Bachelor of Hotel Management
  6. Master of Commerce
  7. Master of Commerce (Business Analytics)
  8. Ph.D. (Commerce) – Full-time and Part-time

A glance at these programmes clearly reflects the faculty’s commitment to moving beyond traditional commerce education and embracing emerging and industry-driven domains of commerce and business. In an era marked by rapid technological advancement, innovation, and constant change, today’s commerce students are expected to face challenges far more complex and dynamic than ever before.

To meet these challenges, our students are nurtured by a team of experienced, innovative, and committed faculty members who focus not only on imparting knowledge but also on instilling values, sharpening skills, and developing leadership qualities. Our aim is to prepare students to confidently lead and excel in business environments at both national and international levels.

The Faculty of Commerce is dedicated to providing the very best academic and professional exposure to its students, empowering them to thrive in today’s intensely competitive marketplace. On behalf of all the faculty members, I warmly welcome everyone to our ever evolving and exciting Faculty of Commerce. We assure you that excellence will remain our guiding principle in all our endeavors.
