Waste Tracking
Measuring and managing waste at Integral University is a vital component of its sustainability framework, aimed at minimizing environmental impact and promoting resource efficiency. The University follows a structured and data-driven approach to monitor, analyze, and improve waste management practices across campus.
Key steps in the waste tracking process include:
- Establishing a Baseline: Assessing the quantity and types of waste generated across different departments, hostels, and facilities.
- Data Collection & Measurement: Recording daily waste generation to identify major sources and patterns.
- Implementing a Recycling Program: Ensuring segregation at source into wet and dry waste to maximize recycling and composting.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Reviewing waste data periodically to evaluate progress and refine management strategies.
- Promoting Awareness and Involvement: Conducting workshops, awareness drives, and student engagement programs to encourage responsible waste practices.
- Continuous Monitoring and Improvement: Regular audits and feedback mechanisms ensure sustained progress toward a zero-waste campus.
Proportion of Waste Recycled
A significant proportion of waste generated at Integral University is recycled or repurposed for various uses as per campus requirements—supporting the University’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Publication of a Sustainability Report
Publishing a sustainability report is a crucial step for Integral Universities to showcase their commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship. For Integral University, a sustainability report serves not only as a transparent document outlining the institution's environmental, social, and economic impacts but also as a roadmap for continuous improvement.
Waste disposal are the activities and actions required to manage waste from its inception to its final disposal. This includes the collection, transport, treatment and disposal of waste, together with monitoring and regulation of the waste management process. The waste from all around the university is separated daily as wet and dry waste in different bags which are disposed separately. Dry waste includes paper, cardboard, glass tin cans etc. on the other hand; wet waste refers to organic waste such as vegetable peels, left-over food etc. Separation of waste is essential as the amount of waste being generated today causes immense problem. The material was composted and evaluated as a fertilizing material. Disposal of these waste results in the production of good quality organic manure that can be used as soil amendments and source of plant nutrients. With smart initiatives like “Think Green Campus Model”, waste management is helping colleges and universities to achieve a higher level of environmental performance. By reusing or recycling we are contributing to the conservation of natural resources, saving energy, helping to protect the environment, reducing landfill. We will also reduce our impact on the environment by minimizing the carbon emissions associated with both disposing of old products and obtaining new ones. Integral University adopts environment friendly practices and takes necessary actions such as – energy conservation, waste recycling, carbon neutral etc. The following waste management practices are adopted in the Integral University.
