The Department of Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), Integral Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Integral University, Lucknow, observed World Hearing Day on 05 March 2026 with the objective of raising awareness about hearing health and the prevention of deafness.
The programme commenced with an inaugural session highlighting the significance of World Hearing Day and its global theme for 2026, emphasizing the need for collective efforts towards the prevention and control of hearing loss. The session also drew attention to the growing global burden of deafness and the importance of early intervention.
Expert talks were delivered on the common causes of hearing loss, the importance of timely diagnosis, and effective preventive strategies. Special emphasis was placed on early detection in children, underscoring its vital role in minimizing long-term hearing impairment and improving quality of life.
