The Department of Anaesthesiology, Integral Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (IIMSR), Integral University organized the Basic Clinical Topics Programme under I-ACT 2026 (Integral Approach for Clinical Training) on 4th April 2026. The programme was designed to strengthen the foundational clinical skills of healthcare students and staff through an integrated and simulation-based training approach.
The initiative focused on bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical clinical application by providing participants with hands-on training using advanced simulation tools and mannikins. The programme covered a range of essential clinical topics including airway management, intravenous cannulation, Basic Life Support (BLS), patient assessment, infection control practices, and emergency response management.
The event featured interactive sessions, live demonstrations, and skill-based workshops that enabled participants to gain real-time experience in handling clinical situations within a safe and controlled learning environment. The use of simulation-based learning allowed participants to repeatedly practice procedures without risk to patients, thereby enhancing technical competence, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
Experienced instructors and clinical experts guided the participants through evidence-based practices and standardized clinical protocols. Special emphasis was placed on teamwork, effective communication, patient safety, and professional responsibility in healthcare settings.
The programme proved to be highly beneficial in improving the confidence and practical skills of participants, preparing them to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care. Through I-ACT 2026, the Department reaffirmed its commitment to promoting quality clinical education and advancing competency-based medical training aligned with modern healthcare standards.
