The Department of Physiology, Integral Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (IIMSR), Integral University successfully organized a Stress Management Workshop titled “Mastering Stress: Building Resilience and Balance”on 30th April 2026 at the Phase-I Lecture Theatre, IIMSR. The workshop was conducted for faculty members with the objective of promoting mental well-being, resilience, and effective stress-management practices in academic and healthcare environments.
The session commenced with an informative overview of the physiology of stress, focusing on the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) Axis and the impact of chronic stress on cognitive and emotional health. Interactive discussions enabled participants to identify common workplace stressors and gain insights into healthy coping mechanisms and emotional resilience.
The workshop also included practical demonstrations of various stress-relief techniques such as Box Breathing, Grounding Techniques (5-4-3-2-1 Method), desk-based yoga exercises, and Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR). These activities provided participants with simple and effective strategies that can be incorporated into professional and daily life settings to maintain balance and well-being.
The programme witnessed active participation from faculty members, with a total of 35 participants attending the workshop. The session successfully enhanced awareness regarding stress management, healthy coping strategies, and work-life balance, while encouraging participants to adopt healthier lifestyle practices for improved mental wellness.
The workshop concluded with positive feedback from participants followed by a formal vote of thanks. The initiative reflected the continued commitment of Integral University towards promoting holistic health, emotional well-being, and professional development among its academic community.
