The Department of Physiology, Integral Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (IIMSR), Integral University successfully organized the observance of World Sleep Day on 11th April 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall, Block-1 under the theme “Healthy Sleep, Healthy Life.” The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness regarding the significance of healthy sleep and its vital role in maintaining physical and mental well-being.
The event featured an informative expert lecture delivered by Dr. Swati Chaurasia, who elaborated on the physiology of sleep, circadian rhythm, common sleep disorders, and the importance of sleep hygiene. She also highlighted the role of healthy lifestyle modifications in maintaining balanced sleep patterns and improving overall health.
The programme included interactive discussions and awareness activities that enabled participants to better understand the harmful effects of sleep deprivation and the preventive measures required to improve sleep quality. Educational posters and awareness materials related to healthy sleep practices were also displayed during the event.
The observance witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and undergraduate students, with a total of 195 participants attending the programme. The event successfully promoted awareness regarding healthy sleep practices and emphasized the importance of adequate sleep for overall health, productivity, and well-being.
The Department expressed gratitude to the university administration and all participants for their valuable support and contribution towards making the programme informative and impactful.
