On the occasion of World Environment Day 2021, the department of civil engineering at Integral University, Lucknow, organized Enviro Olympiad 2.0, a National level online quiz on the topic of "Environmental Restoration", on June 5, 2021, at 4:00 p.m.

According to the United Nations, "Ecosystem restoration means preventing, halting, and reversing this damage to go from exploiting nature to healing it". To instill knowledge and break the monotony caused by the COVID-19 lockdown, a national-level quiz was organized, that was open to all age groups and free of charge. It consisted of multiple-choice questions that tested participants’ knowledge, application, and analytical skills and simultaneously spread awareness on various topics related to the environment.

Major Highlights:

• Total Participants: 2609 from 8 countries and 24 states of India.

• Participants ranged from School Students, Under-Graduates, Post-Graduates, Academicians, Engineers, Medical Professionals & common men.

• Students from 97 schools and 242 institutes participated in the quiz.

Students from prestigious institutions including SGPGI Lucknow, IIT Kanpur, IIT-BHU, Jamia Millia Islamia University, Aligarh Muslim University, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University, TERI School of Advanced Studies, Central University of Haryana, Central University of Jharkhand, Chandigarh University, CSIR-IHBT, CIPET, Burdwan University, UPES Dehradun, Delhi University,

The state with the highest participation rate is Uttar Pradesh (2297), followed by Bihar (67), Karnataka (31) and other states. Many international participants have also taken part in the quiz, from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, the Island of Pakistan, Tanzania, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates.

This Olympiad was successfully managed by organizing secretaries Dr. Neha Mumtaz, anssistant professor, and Mr. Tabish Izhar, an assistant professor of civil engineering.
