Integral University Event

The Department of Forensic Sciences, Integral Institute of Allied Health Sciences & Research (IIAHSR), Integral University, successfully organized National Forensic Science Week from 23rd September 2025 to 25th September 2025 at the F-Block Seminar Hall, University campus.

The week-long celebration was conducted with the objective of recognizing and celebrating the vital contributions of forensic scientists to the criminal justice system and society. The event aimed to foster awareness, academic engagement, and practical exposure among students in the dynamic field of forensic science.

Inaugural Overview

National Forensic Science Week was formally conducted at the Institute of Integrated Allied and Healthcare Sciences and Research (IIAHSR). The program emphasized the importance of forensic science in modern investigative processes and encouraged students to explore its scientific, ethical, and societal dimensions.

Academic & Student-Centric Activities

As part of the celebration, a series of intellectually stimulating and creative competitions were organized:

1. Quiz Competition

The quiz competition was designed to make learning engaging and interactive. It promoted intellectual growth, teamwork, and critical thinking while helping participants identify and bridge knowledge gaps in forensic science.

2. Debate Competition

Topic: “Forensic Science: A Need for Secrecy or Transparency”

The debate competition encouraged structured and evidence-based discussions. Participants demonstrated strong research, communication, and analytical skills while presenting well-reasoned arguments on a thought-provoking subject relevant to contemporary forensic practice.

3. Poster Competition

The poster competition focused on visual communication to raise awareness about forensic science. Participants creatively presented complex scientific themes, promoting innovation and conceptual clarity.

4. Rangoli Competition

Blending tradition with science, the rangoli competition symbolically represented various aspects of forensic science through artistic expression. Students used vibrant colors to depict investigative themes in an educational and culturally engaging manner.

5. Extempore Competition

The extempore competition aimed to develop spontaneous thinking and articulate expression. It simulated real-world scenarios where forensic experts must confidently explain findings during investigations or court proceedings.

6. Mock Crime Scene Activity

One of the highlights of the week was the mock crime scene activity. It provided hands-on practical exposure to students, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in a realistic investigative setup and understand procedural aspects of evidence collection and analysis.

The concluding session featured a valedictory felicitation ceremony graced by:

  • Prof. (Dr.) Ashfaque Khan, Director, IIAHSR

  • Mr. Mojahidul Islam, Head, IIAHSR

  • Ms. Namrata Singh, Assistant Professor & In-Charge, BFS
