The Department of General Surgery observed National Organ Donation Day on 27th November 2025 by organizing an awareness programme with enthusiastic participation from students of various MBBS batches. The primary objective of the event was to disseminate the life-saving message of organ donation among students, faculty members, patients, and visitors.
As part of the programme, students prepared and presented informative posters highlighting the importance of organ donation, donor eligibility criteria, and commonly associated myths and facts. These creative visual displays effectively conveyed how a single organ donor can save and transform multiple lives. The posters were reviewed by the esteemed guests Dr. Syed Belal Hassan, Director, and Dr. Kapil Rastogi, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology, whose encouraging presence and valuable feedback greatly motivated the participating students.
In addition to the poster presentations, students staged a thought-provoking skit portraying the emotional, ethical, and social dimensions of organ donation. Through engaging storytelling and impactful performances, the skit successfully emphasized that organ donation is a noble and compassionate act that transcends social barriers.
Overall, the event succeeded in creating meaningful awareness and strongly reinforced the message that organ donation is truly a “Gift of Life.”
