Pharmaceutical Science is an ever evolving research field with demanding technological advancements. Hence, it is very crucial for pharmacy professionals to keep themselves well aware of recent turn of events and advanced trends of the concerned field in order to stay competent enough in their respective profession as a pharmacist, with this view, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Integral University organised this One day Workshop on “Recent Trends in Technology for Pharmaceutical Sciences” as a part of series of workshop on the same topic through Google Meet on 28th June 2021.
The workshop was conducted in two sessions; Inaugural session started from 10:00 am onwards followed by scientific session and a demonstration session on HPLC handling techniques in the afternoon 2:00 p.m. onwards. The Inaugural session started with a welcome address by Prof. Syed Misbahul Hasan, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Integral University. The session further focussed on expert talks by eminent guest speakers, Dr. Wahajuddin, Principal Scientist & Associate Professor, Division of Pharmaceutics & Pharmacokinetics, CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow and Prof. (Dr.) Pranay Wal, Professor & Dean in Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology (PSIT), Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, both being exemplary personalities in their fields. Dr. Wahajuddin focused on advanced analytical techniques like LC-MS (Liqiud Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy) , the intricacies involved right from the stage of sampling and advanced methods used for the same. Interesting subjects like customized pharmacotherapy, 3D-Prescription techniques and advancements in the field of Pharmacogenomics were well explained by Dr. Pranay Wal. The session was closed with a vote of thanks by Dr. Tarique Mahmood, Head, faculty of Pharmacy, Integral University.
The second session included an illustrious demonstration on HPLC handling techniques by Mr. Mohd Shariq, SRF, Faculty of Pharmacy, Integral University. The session focussed on types columns, types of detectors and sampling methods used as well as SOPs to be followed while running the sample and handling the machine. The entire event was well coordinated by Mrs. Arshiya Shamim, Dr.Vaseem Ansari and Mr. Farogh Ahsan, who ensured the smooth conducting of the programme. The overall response from the participants was quite overwhelming and all the registered candidates were awarded with the certificates of participation. As a team, at Faculty of Pharmacy, Integral University, we look forward to organise more such endeavours in future. Attached here are some glimpses from the Online Workshop.
