Plantation Drive under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" Campaign to Mark the 76th Van Mahotsav

The Department of Environmental Science, under the aegis of the Dean Students' Welfare, Integral University, Lucknow, is organising a Plantation Drive on the occasion of the 76th Van Mahotsav as part of the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign of the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department.

Van Mahotsav is a nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing green cover and promoting environmental sustainability through active public participation in tree plantation. The drive seeks to inspire students, faculty members, and staff to contribute towards ecological conservation by planting trees, thereby supporting climate change mitigation, improving air quality, conserving biodiversity, preventing soil erosion, and fostering a healthier environment.

The "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign encourages every individual to plant and nurture a tree in honour of their mother and Mother Earth, symbolising gratitude while reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship. Through this initiative, participants will be encouraged to take meaningful action towards building a greener and more sustainable future.

The event promotes environmental awareness and youth engagement in climate action and is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 15 – Life on Land, which focuses on protecting terrestrial ecosystems and biodiversity, and SDG 13 – Climate Action, which emphasizes measures to combat climate change through sustainable environmental practices.
